The compression coupling is slipped along the pipe to the desired position where the nuts are then tightened. The pressure is immediately restored to the system after the compression coupling is installed. Compression couplings suit a variety of different pipe materials such as, iron, plastic or steel pipe sizes. It is commonly used for quickly repairing joints as well as, demountable installations within laboratories, workshops and chemical processing plants.
